College
Forming a national network paves the way toward scholarships and college recruitment. Interlake debaters have received $7k scholarships to the Georgetown-Dartmouth Debate Institute, as well as full rides to T-20 schools.
Competition
National tournaments are one of the most unique, academically valuable experiences that policy debate has to offer. By frequenting national tournaments, students are able to compete and learn from hundreds of debate teams, who bring diverse research and perspectives to the table.
Learning
Judging on the national circuit represents one of the most intellectually lively, well-informed communities. As each round concludes and debaters receive their referendum, debaters find opportunities to learn from judges' unique expertise and deep politico-philosophical knowledge.
Fun!
Above all else, traveling is fun and often becomes one of the most high school memorable experiences for our students! Watch an Interlake Debate vlog to see what it's like!
